For most of their life a person is shaped by their environment, upbringing, collective norms, fears, expectations and accumulated experience. Gradually all of this begins to feel like one's own personality — although originally it was merely a set of constructs necessary for existing within society. But over time a person becomes so identified with these forms that they almost cease to feel where they end and where they themselves begin.

At some point a person begins to notice the distance between their true essence and the image they have lived with for most of their life. This is where the inner process of releasing roles, beliefs and ideas about oneself begins — ones that once seemed immovable. Dis-identification is not the loss of personality, but the attempt to see oneself, for the first time, beyond the familiar form.

Растворяясь во времени
Series «Layers of Time». Over time a person changes together with their experience. Events, feelings, losses, transformations gradually erode the former sense of self. In this work it was important for me to convey the state of inner movement in which the personality ceases to be something fixed and defined. Sometimes only by passing through change and the loss of clarity does a person begin to approach their true essence.
